The Scholarship Committee of the ASSE Middle Tennessee Chapter announces the 2014 Scholarship Application. All applications must be completed, submitted, and postmarked by May 1, 2014. No exceptions.
The Middle Tennessee Chapter of the ASSE Scholarship Award & Selection Committee will review all applications. Scholarship recipient names will be posted on the Chapter’s website on or around June 1, 2014. Awards will be presented at the Tennessee Safety & Health Congress on Monday, July 21, 2014 at the Opryland Hotel in Nashville, TN.

The Middle Tennessee Chapter of the ASSE announces our29th Annual John Claxton Memorial Scholarship Fund Banquet & Golf Scramble at The Private Club at Fairvue Plantation.
All proceeds from this tournament will benefit our scholarship program for college students in occupational health, safety, and industrial hygiene programs in the region.

December 2013 – The Middle Tennessee Chapter of the ASSE / Dr. Robert Sanders Child Safety Seat Program announces the donation of 50 child safety seats to area organizations. The Chapter’s program honors the late Dr. Robert Sanders and his legacy of sponsoring legislation to protect children in motor vehicles. Tennessee was the first state in the nation to enact a mandatory child restraint law, which took effect in Tennessee in January 1978. Shortly thereafter, the Chapter began donations and distribution of child safety seats in the region. In December, eight car seats were delivered to AGAPE Nashville.

Outstanding Service Award to Jimmie Tullis, Past President
September 9, 2013 - The Middle Tennessee Chapter of the ASSE named a new perpetual scholarship honoring past-President Ron A. Kirsch, Ph.D. The annual scholarship is amount of $2,500 and will be awarded to college students in the region studying Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related fields and will be administered by the Middle Tennessee Chapter Scholarship Committee. This new scholarship joins two other permanent scholarships sponsored by the Middle Tennessee Chapter which honor Keith Bain and Harold F. Polston and are administered by the ASSE Foundation. Dr. Kirsch has served on the EC from 2002-present and served 3 terms as Chapter President. He is also currently the Chair of the Scholarship Committee, and Co-Chair of the Golf Committee. Congratulations to Dr. Kirsch and the future deserving students in the region!
