The Scholarship Committee of the ASSE Middle Tennessee Chapter announces the 2012 Scholarship Application. All applications must be completed, submitted, and postmarked by Monday, May 14, 2012. No exceptions.
The Middle Tennessee Chapter of the ASSE Scholarship Award & Selection Committee will review all applications. Scholarship recipient names will be posted on the Chapter's website on or around June 30, 2012. Awards will be presented at the Tennessee Safety & Health Congress on Monday, July 23, 2012.

All proceeds from this tournament will benefit our scholarship program for college students in occupational health, safety, and industrial hygiene programs in the region.

NASHVILLE, TN (March 16, 2012) –The American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) Middle Tennessee chapter recently announced the continuation of their "Middle Tennessee ASSE/Dr. Robert Sanders Child Safety Seat Program," donating 50 child safety seats to various organizations throughout the mid-state. The Child Safety Seat Program, which the chapter has funded for over 30 years through its monthly Driver's Safety School, provides child safety seats so those in need and helps protect their children while riding in a motor vehicle.

The Network of Employers for Traffic Safety (NETS) recognizes Keith Bain of Chubb Group and the Middle Tennessee Chapter of the ASSE. Our Driver Safety School was used as an example during the NETS Drive Safely to Work Week campaign and featured in the Focus 360 publication. See the attached article, pg 3.

Keith Bain, CSP is a Property & Casualty Risk Specialist in Loss Control Services for the Chubb Group of Insurance Companies, Past President of the Middle Tennessee Chapter, Driver Safety School Chair, and ASSE Foundation Scholarship honoree.
The Middle TN Chapter met with Titan's General Manager of LP Field (Walter Overton) and Director of Security (Steve Burke); visited the Command Center, Locker Room, and LP Field.

A total of $9,000 in scholarships have been awarded to area students in occupational health and safety. The scholarships will be awarded during the Tennessee Safety and Health Congress on Monday, August 1, 2011 at the Opryland Hotel and Convention Center in Nashville, TN.
At the Chapter's monthly meeting in April, we visited the Room In The Inn facility in downtown Nashville and presented them a $10,000 check to help support their mission to serve the homeless in the Nashville area. The Middle Tennessee Chapter has been supporting the Campus for Human Development, Room In The Inn and Guest House for over 40 years.

The awards were presented by current Chapter President, Bill Boehm at their September 13, 2010 Chapter meeting.

The Scholarship Committee of the Middle Tennessee Chapter of the ASSE has selected the 2010 scholarship winners.
“In addition to the Harold F. Polston and Keith Bain scholarships, we are very pleased to be able to award six more scholarships this year for a total of $10,000.
Each of these scholarship recipients have met the high academic and eligibility requirements along with excelling in a challenging curriculum of Occupational Safety and Health”, said Ron A. Kirsch, Ph.D., Chair of the Scholarship Committee. “On behalf of the Scholarship Committee, congratulations to the winners!”
The $2,000 Harold F. Polston Harold F. Polston Scholarship was awarded to Lauren Hobbs of Murray State University. The $2,000 Keith Bain Scholarship was awarded to Jenna Lake of Murray State University.
